One of the hottest wedding cake trends this summer is naked cakes – simple tiers, with no icing. Intricate sugar paste flowers won’t work with this look. Instead pretty it up with a few fresh blooms scattered on top or around the base. Naked cakes work particularly well at rustic receptions with an outdoorsy, natural feel.
One word of warning – because naked cakes aren’t covered with icing, the tiers will dry out quicker than normal, so don’t stack them too early.
